The thread headline pretty much explained it all, but do you think it's too late for me to get in touch with the soccer coach at Princeton. He may not necessarily want to recruit me but I definitely think I can make a strong contribution to the team and if I can show him that, he may put in a good word with admissions officers. Let me know what you think!

The chances of having a discussion with the coach at this point having an impact on your admission are very slim, unless you are one of the top recruits in the country. Does your soccer accomplishment list match what you can see in the current roster?

If you are passionate about playing and are willing to dedicate the kind of time needed to be a collegiate athlete, then contact the coach to see if you can get invited to pre-season.

If you are hoping it will impact your admissions and aren't overly interested in playing, then don't contact the coach.

Every now and then you hear about someone getting recruited this late in the season, and if your accomplishments warrant this and you want to play, then contact the coach.

Good luck!

^^ He pretty much nailed it. It is late in the normal process, but as long as you are good enough to help the team, it's not too late. If your talents are middle-of-the-pack type for high school and no substantial club stuff, your chances are probably slim, but there's no harm in making a phone call. Yes, coaches can definitely help get you in, even at this late stage (provided your GPA and test scores are in line with what's required).
