Do you think the national merit cutoff will go ABOVE 203?

Never has the PSAT National merit cutoff gone above 203, and for the last 3 years it has been 203, all in a row. Do you guys think it may rise of 204 for the 1st time?

Are you referring to the state with the lowest score, or another particular state?

No, I’m referring to the national cutoff to attain the national merit commended status. It has only gone to 204 once (I made a mistake in my 1st post) back in 2003, and I was wondering if anyone else thinks this year’s national commended cutoff wil be 204 once again.

The national commended cutoffs were not at 203 for the past several years. They were:
2014 = 203
2013= 200
2012= 202
2011= 201
2010= 201

To continue that with the data I have:

2009 = 200
2008 = 200
2007 = 203
2006 = 202
2005 = 202
2004 = 201

My guess is that I don’t think it will go up. Maybe drop by 1 to 2 pt… but it doesn’t really get you anything thou so why do you care?

^ in our smallish town, commended gets you special recognition from the school board and your name in the paper and stuff. I’m guessing OP has a 204 and is concerned it will go past that?
