My teachers just said nothing below 90% is an A-, therefore she will not be rounding me up. I'm honestly really mad about this. I'm a second semester senior, so it sucks that my last semester's B+ is with 89.79, which all my other teachers round to A- except for this ONE teacher.

Do your teachers round up or no? I know this is my fault for not getting the 90%, but still... sucks to know I was so close.

We have a six-point grading scale at my school; however, teachers do generally try to round up to the next grade if you’re a point or less away from it.

My teachers do not have a choice. Even if they submit an 89.5% or above as a B, the computer rounds it up to an A, like you would when rounding a normal number to the nearest whole number.

@CmonSon That’s WAY too lenient. I would love that system, but still, come on…

All the teachers I’ve had in HS except 3, rounded 89.5 and above to an A. There aren’t any A- or A+, just A, so a 90% at my school would look the same as a 100% to an admissions officer. I’ve had grades in between 89.5% and 90% plenty of times Love it.

Lol no…think about it …0.30% is a lot of points if your class is hitting up in the 700+ points if your class is using the point system… and its even funnier if you’re asking to round that much if your class is using a weighted system. My teachers would prolly round 89.90+ tho.

This would be an A- at most classes at my school. My math teacher last year said, “The rest of the school can do whatever it wants, but since this is math class and we know how to round properly, anything 89.5+ is an A-.” A few teachers would be generous even at ~89.4.
