<p>Sorry to hear about your disqualification. Given the strengths of your qualifications, I would definately try to work around this roadblock.</p>

<p>I suggest you post your question to the moderator of the DODMERB thread on the serviceacaemy forum. He's given some great DODMERB-related advice and information to candidates. From his comments so far, it appears there's more hope to obtain waivers than I previous knew existed. In particular he points out that, the stronger the candidate, the more likely the academy will grant a waiver.</p>

<p>There is a difference between a rebuttal and a waiver. If you do not have hearing loss, or not to the level that DoDMERB asserts, you should rebutt the DoDMERB finding. A successful rebuttal will remove the condition from your file. If DoDMERB is correct, find out if your level of hearing loss is waiverable. Not all medical conditions are waiverable. If waivers are granted for your condition, start the waiver process NOW. It takes some time and time is not your friend in the application process.</p>
