DoDMERB Rebuttal

I just recieved my medical information back from DoDMERB and is says that I’m Potential Navigator Qualified. I told this to my ALO and he said I should send in a rebuttal saying that my vision is correctable to 20/10, which it is, and then that would change my status to Potential Pilot Qualified. The reasons it lists are unaided distant visual acuity worse than 20/50 and refractive error greater than -1.00 diopters in any meridian. My vision is 20/70 and 20/100 in my right and left eyes respectively so the Navigator Qualified is correct.

If I send in a rebuttal, will they change me to PPQ or will it not change because those same conditions still exist?

You could try it; I don't see what it would hurt. Just keep in mind that none of that (pilot/nav qualified) is actually determined officially until your graduation physical which occurs about 2 years into your cadet career. In other words, what your paperwork says now in that respect is not sealing your fate.
