Hi,

I'm currently a freshman at Princeton and am looking at internships over the summer. I am interested in Politics as a major and future career area.

I'm a member of the Debate team, and the Whig-Clio society. I can probably get some decent references and I think I can answer the questions on the application well.

I have one major problem: my GPA is awful. It's a 2.9 (I was essentially pre-med for a semester, and it didn't work out).

I'm thinking of applying for an internship in the office of a US senator in my home state, but I don't know if my GPA would immediately disqualify me from consideration.

I also have another question - would it be inappropriate to include some activities I did in High School on my resume? (as a freshman, I don't get very many leadership opportunities at college, but I had plenty of leadership my senior year of High School.)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
