Does a Financial Aid Offer mean I'm Admitted?

Hello Everyone,

I applied to the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at San Francisco State University. I submitted my FAFSA last week. Past the deadline, I know.

Anyway, I recently received a financial aid offer via email. When I checked the status of my application online, however, it said that it was still under consideration.

Is this a good indication that I've been admitted? I can't image them preparing financial aid packages for every applicant, as that would seem like an awful lot of work.

Thanks for your help.

You can't tell what it means. Last year, my student received a financial aid offer from a college-- and eventually received a rejection.

I think for most places, it would mean that you're accepted. However, it depends on how the institution is organized and the extent to which the financial aid and admissions offices are coordinated.

Your best bet is to call the school and ask.
