Does a W on transcript look bad?

<p>I would like to withdraw a class not because I'm afraid of a poor grade but because I would like to earn high grades in my other subjects. I'm currently taking 17 credits and commute 3 hours a day.</p>

<p>I am awfully worried that this will hurt my chances of getting into nursing school and that graduate admissions will look down on my W as a failed class..</p>

<p>The general consensus seems to be that one or even two W’s don’t hurt, but once you have more than that it starts to become a problem.</p>
