<p>I want to drop one of my classes because it's useless and I just did pretty bad on the exam so it could potentially hurt my GPA. What exactly does a W mean? someone told me they are bad</p>
<p>it's my opinion that if you only have 1 or 2 W's, it won't look that bad (especially if they are freshman year).</p>
<p>it just means you withdrew from the course, so when you apply to grad/med schools, and they look at your transcript, they will assume that you weren't going to do very well in the course.</p>
<p>I mean, I would take a W without hesitation if it would hurt my gpa... just don't do it too often or it will look quite bad.</p>
