does any one know of any gay friendly colleges?? im frustrated, please help

NYU and Vassar.

Hi, I'm in the same struggle as you, bluerubberduck. Good news is that I plan on studying theater, so I'll probably be in the sexual majority vs. the sexual minority :D

Basically I'm avoiding schools with any religious involvement EXCEPT DePaul, which is right by North Halstead and has a large gay population. I'm also avoiding Southern schools except Miami (although Florida isn't really South) and Wake Forest.

Some schools I'm interested in that I've had good luck with are:

NYU
Boston University
DePaul
U. Miami
George Washington
U. Michigan
UIUC
Stanford (I have two gay buddies that went there and say it's a very gay friendly place)
...and a few others, but these are the main contenders. My number one schools, though, CMU and Stanford, aren't the stereotypical "gay" schools like NYU, BU and GWU are. But if I get into either one of those, I'm going there no questions asked just because of the program (and in Stanford's case, the campus and housing)

…it missed the list this year, but don’t let its location in the deep south fool you - it used to be number 8 for most friendly gay colleges. It should still be on the list.

How has no-one mentioned Brown? I know very little about it, and sure, I’m probably stereotyping, but it does have its reputation as “the gay Ivy.” (although Yale might give it a run for its money in that?) Also Wesleyan, Bard, Reed…anywhere very liberal. You might want to buy (or at least look through) the college guide “Choosing the Right College.” It’s aimed at conservatives and evangelical Christians. However, the colleges it says nasty things about the liberal-ness of might be perfect for you, and some of the ones that are very accepting of all viewpoints might also be. It’s very attuned to the political atmosphere on campus, and even if the conclusions it draws about the desirability of a college are the exact opposite of yours, I do think that its reporting on the political atmosphere it is drawing conclusions about is pretty good.

This thread is five years old, and the OP is likely a college graduate by now.

Regardless of how gay-friendly Hendrix and Brown are, neither warrants [thread necromancy](http://angelicvoices.net/Thread_Necromancy.jpg).
