Does anybody know of any essay competitions?

<p>Does anybody know of any essay competitions that are going on.? I really want to start trying to get into any essay/scholarship competitions as soon as possible.</p>

<p>I think Penguin and Bantam both have essay scholarships, for writing about one of the books they publish.</p>

<p>Ayn Rands each year offers scholarships to the best essays about 1 of 3 of her books. The book is assigned in a grade range. Such as Freshmen and Sophmores are assigned "The Anthem". Hope that helps!

<p>The National Council of Teachers of English has an essay contest. I think a teacher has to nominate you for it or something though.</p>
