Does anyone else here still watch Barney? (or listen to Barney songs?)

@TheAtlantic, Mr. Rogers was, as preamble said, intentionally boring. Fred Rogers was concerned with the quality/fast pace of children’s programming at the time and wanted to create an alternative that spoke directly to them and showed them that life wasn’t all action packed/fast. He dealt with issues relevant to young children. At least spell his name properly if you’re going to criticize him.

It is also worth mentioning that Fred Rogers is probably the only human being on Earth that was able to give an articulate and sensitive explanation to children about what happened on the morning of September 11th, 2001 without any mention of politics, religion, or culture. Everything he did was to protect children. The man was a national treasure.

oh I’m sorry. R-O-G-E-R-S. I don’t think my misspelling invalidates my opinion.
I just didn’t care to sit through the show. It literally put me to sleep (though in retrospect, that may have been a good thing. The show calmed me down) I did like the theme song though.

I actually didn’t know he had passed away until two years ago. I started watching his show in 2004 (I was five), which was a year after his death.

I didn’t like it initially (gave me headaches), but as I got a bit older, I started liking it more. Now, I’m trying to find DVDs/BluRays of the series so I can relive my childhood :)

@TheAtlantic - Your post made me remember that I did not appreciate sleep as much as I should have when I was little. Man, I’d kill for daily nap time. I remember my parents trying to force me to go to bed at 8 when I was 6 or 7, and I’d whine and fuss about it. Now going to bed before midnight seems like a pipe dream, lol.
