This is the most ridiculous thing in the world and my transcript got lost so now I have to pay twice for one school. WTH!!!! And there is no way to track the trancripts via tracking number unless I pay $30 for one damn trancript. WOW, I hate the American school system sometimes. Totally useless. That's just my little rant. Please don't ban me.

In our school first two transcripts are free, and any other transcripts requested after those two will cost $2 each.

Do you attend a public or private school? $30 per transcript sounds excessive. Our local hs provides 3 official transcripts at no charge, $3 per transcript thereafter. Which I think is excessive considering a stamped-addressed envelope must also be provided. I have watched the staff person print out the transcript upon request, and it must take literally 10 seconds of her time.

Why the heck do we need to pay. That's what make me angry.
and I pay $30 if I want it sent via FedEX which I almost had to do because the deadline is Nov.1 and I have to send a new one which might take 3-7 days because the useless company can't do their job.

Probably used all those money for Christmas gifts!

The transcript doesn't absolutely need to be in there by Nov 1. Get your portion done by Nov 1 -- the school stuff will come in and you won't be penalized. Skip FedEx.

We pay $3 for each of the first eight transcripts and $25 for each one after that. This is a private school. They pay the postage.

$2 per transcript.

You can't expect a school to pay Fed Ex charges.

$4 per transcript - public school in Massachusetts. Seems excessive because we, too, have to provide the envelope and stamp - so what the heck is the $4 for?!?!

Anyhoo - I agree that you shouldn't FedEx it. BUT...how about Priority mail? You can track that, it's usually $4.80 for the label. Stick it on a flat-rate envelope, put the sealed envelope inside of that, and you can track it online AND it arrives in 3-5 days.

Are you sure your transcript got lost, though? It can take up to 12 days for first class mail to arrive at its destination and there WAS a holiday last week.

It used to be free at the high school here, but this year they're charging $2 per. The local state college charges $4, the community college charges $5.

Paying for an HS transcript? wow....never had to do that...

But...get used it....most colleges charge for a transcript which stinks because I have records at 4 colleges...thank goodness my alma mater doesn't charge.

At my school, all letters sent by mail are free, but online transcripts cost $5.

$5 each, and we have to provide envelopes/stamps.

Guess it costs a lot to push the 'print' button. And to fold paper.

Wow. Our high school: FREE. They provide the envelope, they provide the stamp.

Our community college: $4, they provide envelope and stamp.

I just got an email saying they thought I was a different person so now all my trancripts have to be resent. And they said it was free because it was a mistake but I also got another email saying I was charged $15 more dollars. This is getting ridiculous. F*&king cheap schools. I should deliver the transcript myself or something.
one is free, each one is 4 dollars after it.
also we have a veteran guidance secretary.
all teacher recommendations, transcript requests, and forms for guidance counselors are given directly to her and she sends everything out together LOL awesome -_-
all i have to do is commonapp and test scores and hand her papers.

$5 per transcript, $5 per mid year report and your end of the year report is free, at least one transcript is free, and unofficial transcripts are free as well.

At my school, official transcripts are a buck a piece.

I think my school's tuition includes 10 free transcripts but all subsequent aren't... I'm not sure exactly how much it costs to send them at that point though...

i go to a private school-they're free indefinitely

after about 10, your guidance counselor will KILL you though
