I have a newfound interest in Manhattan College. I really love it. It has an ideal location, NYC is my dream city (at least for a while). It is also small, which is something I appreciate. But when it comes to academics, I'm not sure it would be the best choice. I really care about getting a good education. I'd be pursuing business, and I don't know anything about its reputation for this major.
My top choice in NYC is Fordham (especially because it has a new campus on the UWS) (oh and NYU is not even an option because it's way too expensive, and way too selective for my stats) and I think I have a good chance of getting in, but I'd need at least the 10,000$ scholarship to attend, which I am unlikely to get, but I'm still gonna give it a try. On the other hand, I would be able to afford MC with little debt (around 5,000$ yearly). Forbes ranks it in the low 200s, which is good considering it was in the low 300s a few years ago. And USNews ranks it as the 17th regional university in the North, which is also good (is it? I know it's not great, but being there means that it is at least serious about academics, right?). I know I shouldn't base my decision on rankings, but they at least tell me something about the school's academic quality.
Do you have any comments?
PS I am an international student.
Thank you!

I was just accepted into the school of business today, I have the same inquisition. My cousin goes there, and he is now pursuing an internship in NYC which may very well land him with a job. I too would appreciate some insight into
Manhattan’s academic credibility.
