I’m thinking about getting an associate doing this or food and beverage management specialization. Do any one know any one or currently does this and advice would be appreciated.
My father has a degree from the Culinary Institute of America and works as a chef, like he wanted to. Classically trained chefs get higher positions quicker. My mom, on the other hand, has managed hotels for 20 years with no degree. You don’t need one to get a job in hotel management, unless you want to manage large hotels. Her and I both see hotel management programs as being pretty pointless. She was a general manager by 22, which is probably the same position people with hotel management degrees would have at that age. Many such programs exist, I’m just not sure if they are in your best interest.
