We just got a mailing from "The College of New Jersey," which is part of the NJ State university system. They have some interesting majors including Interactive Media. Does anyone know about this school and/or know anything about their art program?

Our son is a freshman at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ).

It is a NJ public with about 5000 undergraduates. Located in residential Ewing NJ just outside Trenton. It was Trenton State for about 150 years until changing it's name about 10 years ago.
Started life as a teacher's college and education is still it's strength.
But the school reorganized itself with the name change and has added many innovative programs.

Classes are small and there's no place to hide out like at some larger state u's. Profs are generally into their stuff. They have first and second year seminars that are reading and writing intensive that our son has found demanding AND cool.
Kids are almost all from NJ though. It provides a good education at a reasonable cost so admission is competitive. The stats of admitted students is the highest of all the NJ state colleges, I believe.
Many have been admitted to 'name' schools but choose TCNJ due to $$.

The campus is beautiful with many new buildings and landscaped lawns. Insufficient dorms- dorms are only guaranteed for the first 2 years. They are building more.

Nothing much to see in immediate neighborhood of the school. But close to I-95 and Philly.
Our son actually bums a ride to the Trenton train station each Sunday to take the train to NYC for a rehearsal he has there with a youth symphony. (Freshman cannot have cars.) So, things are doable.

Not a perfect school but much going for it. Our son is VERY happy.
PM me if I you'd like.
