So I applied ED1 back in November and was deferred. I wasn’t shocked- I have a mediocre academic background for a school as selective as Bryn Mawr, due to some personal issues my sophomore and junior years. However, Bryn Mawr is my dream school and has been since I was 11. I poured my heart into my supplemental essay, had frequent contact with my admissions counselor, and my interview went really, really well. I know many schools use deferrals as a sort of pseudo-rejection, but given how small Bryn Mawr’s applicant pool I was wondering if it was more uncommon and if I still stand a chance. I had good first semester grades, so I hope that helped. Thanks in advance everyone.
I don’t know how common it is, but keep contact with admissions! Email them updates, and let them know that you’re still interested!
