...of the bio/physics/chem local rounds
usabo,usapho,unsco,etc.
especially new jersey
how about the national rounds for camp ^_^
thanks

If I remember correctly, the cutoff last year for the USABO open exam was somewhere in the low 30s (can't exactly remember). No idea what semifinal test cutoff was.

for chem local rounds, I'm pretty sure they select the two highest scoring kids from your school to take the UNSCO.

no but those two highest scorers have to pass a cutoff too

USABO: Usually 26 - 32. Semifinalists need at least a 103 (101 on hard years) to make camp.

USNCO: 50+ in most areas (except NJ) where the local exam is administered. On the national exam, average standing on the labs combined with a 50 MC and 85 FR should do it for camp.

USAPhO: It's changing almost every year. This year the top 400 students on the F = ma exam become quarterfinalists. These 400 will then take a test that has electricity and magnetism (F = ma has only mechanics), and the top 150 become semifinalists...so the cutoff is hard to say. The team is selected based on recommendations and previous demonstrations of scholastic aptitude.

eek physics sounds so random
thanks tho that was useful!:)

For the USABO semifinals, 103 or 101 out of what?

lol I thought Narcissa was back for a second
