My son has not heard yet, does that mean he is not getting in?

No, it just means he has not heard yet. People are admitted right up to the Dec. 15 deadline. A great many others are deferred, some get denied. There is nothing to be read into the fact that he has not heard yet. What are his stats and other particulars?

Very strong grades from a good private school. 3.7 (unweighted) - with a low ACT. 28 - captain of his school sports team, awards, etc…

My guess is he will not be denied admission this round, but he might get deferred into the RD round. You didn’t mention if he had a lot of AP courses or not. Strength of schedule makes a difference also. And of course I cannot see his essays or anything else in his file. Stats-wise he is unlikely to be denied at this stage, but borderline for early acceptance.
