I know on the website they have some stats, but I have been searching this forum for indiv. people who were accepted as transfers to Stanford (especially community college transfers). Any information on where I might be able to get this kind of information would be greatly appreciated.

Did you check the Fall 2005 Transfer Profile at http://www.stanford.edu/dept/uga/applying/extras/1_2a6_profile.html ???

I won't try to post the data here, but the 4.5% admit rate is very low (50 out of 1,282 applicants). It sounds like Stanford really does not encourage undergraduate transfers!

Yeah, transferring to Stanford is quite hard.

Look at my stats (search up IwannaIvy on the UC why accept/reject/waitlist thread).

Try to reach the quality of my stats and you should have a good shot. If you have any questions just let me know.

Whether the admit rate is low or not, apply anyway. If you have a vaild reason for wanting to transfer, do it. It's better to apply to a Top college that has what you're looking than to accept a lower ranked school that doesn't. I'm apply to Stanford because it has an all around package that I'm looking for.

Follow your gut instincts. If it says that you should go to the Top Schools.....do it!

It's funny how you capitalize "Top schools" as if that only constitutes a few select private institutions in your mind.

I just looked at the stats on the site. It looks like SAT scores do make a significant difference. Are the stats for acceptance spread out like this at other top schools, or does Stanford put more emphasis on these numbers, compared to other schools?

I'm strong in the numbers area, and I'm kind of worried because I heard that Stanford has a new dean of admissions coming from Yale, and I definitely got rejected to Yale as a high school senior. Will the dean change make a big difference?
