Does anyone know exactly how the UW recalculates grades for admissions?
I know they recalculate weighted grades to unweighted, but do they do anything else? Do they just use the GPA you filled in? Or; do they throw out certain classes; drop +'s and -'s and so on? Has anyone ever asked what GPA they had? My daughter showed me her myuw and it lists SAT but doesn't specify GPA or AI number. This would be helpful to know in terms of whether it is worth waiting for a decision on their part.

I'm pretty sure they just look at uwgpa and look at the classes and what u got in em. Obviously they won't care if ur d got an A in Art but if she got an A in ex. AP English they ll be happy. 3.55/1220 should get her in if she had a few AP/Honors. I would be very surprised if they rejected her and I haven't been surprised yet (last year and this year).

I think all UW does is make the GPA unweighted so that it can be evaluated on the same level as other applicants...

Oh yeah, and Seven? I got a B in Art, but an A in AP English. I wonder how they'll look at that.

Helps a lot =)...shows that ur gpa should be higher
