Do you think being rejected from Middlebury means definite rejection from Williams... I pray not :-.

No way... a lot of madness, Midd decisions...

Theoretically, yeah. But as we all know, college admissions is a crazy, crazy process. So, in practice, definitely not.

Werd, you and I seem to have a mutual taste in choosing colleges, so with that, even after being accepted to Midd, I'm still optimistic for Williams. Don't let a rejection/waitlist get you down. Just know that you will go somewhere great regardless.

Werd........which other schools apart from Midd and Williams did u apply to? I'm prepping myself up for more badnews.
(waitlisted from WUSTL and Midd)

lol man. I got waitlisted by Middlebury, Carleton, Grinnell, and Colby. Right now I'm so desperate I'll go anywhere.
It probably means that I will most likely get rejected from Williams, JHU, Wellesley, and Oberlin (the last four).

So yeah. Good luck to EVERYONE. Rejections (or waitlists for that matter) shouldn't get you down. We all have to hope, at least until something comes in the mail. (Or right before you open it... Colby sent me their waitlist letter in a big envelope. CRUEL CRUEL CRUEL. Why do you need to get a big envelope for two pieces of paper?!?!) haha.

hey werd we're meetin here again : )

haha, man I meet all these great people all over the forum! :-)
Hey there again Astrix, Jurily, lianapark, and bellicious

lianapark... those schools must have jsut thought you were applying to them as safeties and wanted to protect their yield ;-). I'm sure that you'll get into one of those schools off the waitlist, and JHU, if not all others, seems very doable for you! (don't know much about oberlin or wellesley). Some of these admission committees are so ridiculous sometimes though. I was surprised that you were waitlisted at Colby... I'm sure you're a top competitor for a spot of the waitlist.

Bellicious... I got into Colby, UVM Honors College, and SUNY Geneseo; I applied to those schools + Dartmouth (rejected ED), Midd (rejected), Williams, Bowdoin, and Cornell CALS. I probably will end up going to UVM if I don't get into Williams or Cornell because it's closer(I still liek it, don't get me wrong, it's jsut different than a Colby or a Williams), and I'm pretty sure now that I can't go TOO far away from home :-. So, I REALLY want in at Williams!! lol. Anyways, a waitlist at Midd shows that you are still incredibly qualified (as to not get completely tossed into the discard pile) and that most of the schools you applied to will probably pay you to go there, lol.

and Albywalby and Collegeboundjen, thanks for the votes of confidence :-D.

I truly love my fellow CCers. :-P

Hey Werd.......so nice of you inflate my empty balloon that was hope!Looks like u have a very decent list of acceptances already.....good luck with Williams and Cornell!

Lianapark.......same boat here, feeling the desperation sink in. But think about it.......chances of being rejected from all your schools is almost like the chance of someone being accepted them all. So statistically speaking, u'll get in somewhere, and it's prob gonna be awesome!

thanks Bellicious!! Glad to know you empathize! I'm just crossing my fingers now for the last one. :) GOOD LUCK TO ALL!!!

Werd you are SO SWEET! I know that sounds like....I'm five years old....but you made me feel loads better, even if I kinda know that's not gonna happen hehehe. It's okay, there's always deportation... (what I get if I don't get accepted anywhere)

Hey Lianapark, I was just tellin' it like it is :-). You are so qualified, you absolutely HAVE to get into one of those schools; if not, it will have defied the very laws of the Universe, thefore causing everything based on those laws to simply not exist anymore... a.k.a, if you don't get into any, there's nothing to worry about because the Universe will have imploded on itself before Fall '05. :-)

Bellicious: You should know balloons can't be inflated if they are empty! There's always hope, especially with your resume (being waitlisted at Midd is nothing to sneeze at and not something that is very easy to do). And, thanks for the luck with Cornell and Williams... I'm gonna need it! lol

P.S.

HAPPY EASTER!!
