I don't like Harry but I love the HP series.
I guess people have the rights to say that HP is 'gay' and 'retarded' but these books now have way more sophisticated words than 'gay' and 'retarded'.. and maybe these people should read the book and gain some vocab knowledge.

I agree that people addicted to HP is unhealthy. People who are addicted to anything is unhealthy. People who are addicted to smiling is unhealthy (i know that sounds strange but it's really freaky). As my mother always says: Everything In Moderation Is The Best. (that goes for veges, meat, fruits, studying, sports, anything)

But I'm a big fan of the books.. even though #5, 6 weren't as good as 1,2,3,4..
And you gotta agree that little kids dressed up as these characters, waiting in line eagerly for their books, are so cute!!
Older kids.. hmm.. i guess they could be cute too...

I don't like it after the 4th book. Though it might be interesting but the pages are getting longer and longer. Come on, it's like telling me to read a textbook except it's just a little bit more interesting.

it’s ok to not like Harry Potter. we will all have our own opinions, and that is ok too. I too have gone through similar hate due to my dislike of harry potter, don’t worry about it. people tend to assume that if they love something, everyone should. just ignore them, they’ll eventually leave the mater alone. i mean c’mon, i became best friends with a harry potter lover, and she doesn’t care that i don’t.

I mean, I don’t hate it. I actually enjoyed reading it, and would be more than willing to read it again given the time (which is never going to happen. i have at least a hundred books on my bucket list, some of them 23+ volumes long and manga/hua, and i never have the time). My problem is when everyone around me practically worships it and expects me to worship it, too.

Granted, I finished it all the year book 7 came out (so like 5th grade?) and never touched the books again, so I may end up hating/loving it if I read it again now. My tastes in literature have changed, and considerably–thank god.

If you all don’t like Harry Potter, what kind of books do you like? Fantasy is probably my favorite genre. You get to escape to a whole different world while reading.
