Hey guys, just wondering if Mechanics and E/M count as 2 separate tests, since people are allowed to take only one of them...or would that be "half" a test, according to the AP Scholar standards? I heard that "they" changed it this year, and is charing $82 for each part of the test. Thanks! =)

Each test will count as a complete test this year. Two fees and two hours for each test.

Since when can we only take one Physics C exam? I truly hope there is a mistake on this.

You can take both, but you have to pay seperate fees for each one. CB has stopped letting you take certain tests in "pairs" (like the 2 econs, the 2 gov't etc). If you look at the exam schedule, the Mechanics exam is for 2 hours, followed by the E&M (unlike the old alternating sequence).

Phew. That's all I needed to hear.

Are both pretty easy? Which one would be harder to take? Could you do AP Physics EM in like one quarter? Thanks.

this is good news. now i don't have to self-study an AP...second semester senior year. thanks guys, & good luck!

I was reading Knights Pysics for scientists and engineers. If anyone has knowledge of this book, is physics tested in that level of comprehension. The other books I had been reading went no where near that much detail. IE such as calculating a dipole movement using integrating and then taking partial limits to see what the charge on it is. ANd whether something will appear as 3 charges or one as the distance increases.
