I’m applying for the Social Studies National Honor Society at my school, and one of the requirements is an average above 85 and 3 social studies credits, one of them being an AP, honors, or elective class. I’m a junior and I’m currently taking regular US history (only other choice was AP, but I’m taking 3 other APs so I didn’t want to take 4) and my overal grade is a 93, and I had an 89 in regular global history 9/10. My teacher reccommended me for AP gov next year, but I’ve still yet to take an honors or AP social studies class even though I probably should’ve. I’m currently taking AP psych (overall average is a 94), but I’m not sure whether or not that applies as a social studies class or not, as if I doesn’t, I most likely will not be admitted into the honor society. Should I just put AP psychology on the list of classes I’m taking and hope it counts, or should I just not bother submitting an application for the NHS?
What does your school count it as?
