Do their summer workshops help you get in? I've heard that Georgetown values programs like Presidential Classroom, it they value programs like that they must value their own programs right?

It can be valuable as a demonstration of your interest in a particular field, e.g. politics, medicine, etc. However, there are countless ways to demonstrate such interest. Being hosted by Georgetown does not give the program any inherent extra weight. This is especially true since there are many students who can’t participate in such programs, whether due to finances, time commitments to other activities, or other factors.

I went to one, and although I didn’t apply to Georgetown, I don’t know a single person so far who went to it that got into Georgetown. (I’m sure there had to be some). With that said, going to the program is a great idea if you are considering Georgetown because it will give you a chance to live there for a week and see if you really like it. Plus you may even make connections that could help get in or anytime in your future.

Point being: It probably won’t help you in admissions, but you should still go.
