My daughter needs to audition on one of the last dates for Webster.
Does that put her at a disadvantage compared to those who audition earlier? - or are all auditioners judged equally at the end?
Are they videotaped?

This question comes up a lot on the MT Forum. My D got into several BFA in MT Programs (she did not apply to Webster) and at several of them (not all), she attended the last audition date and was admitted. These programs consider those who audition on the last date every bit as much as those who audition on earlier dates or they would not bother with these audition dates. Many of the programs hold off on deciding who to admit until they have seen all auditionees. I had a client get into Webster last year who auditioned at the end of the audition cycle there.

MTmomma-I believe Webster requests that you bring a tape with you to the audition which they say will be reviewed by the faculty.

My d is a current junior in the MT program and she auditioned on one of the last available dates in March. I really don't believe it matters; Webster does not have rolling admissions into their program (although the admissions is rolling into the university). Not sure if auditions are videotaped (they weren't during d's audition cycle but that was several years ago), you might want to check directly with Webster. They used to request audiotapes of the songs if you were auditioning at certain (not all) off-campus locations; but again that might have changed in the last few years.

I agree with everyone here. It seems Webster waits until they have seen everyone before making decisions. It's hard for those who audition early to wait all that time to hear anything but it does mean that those at the end have an equal shot of getting in as those who audition at the first set of auditions.

Thank you everyone! That makes me feel a whole lot better about how we are scheduling auditions while juggling a busy senior year.
