Does being a National Merit Semifinalist help me for any of these schools?

I've already been chanced for my top choices, but I'm wondering if that fact that I was a national merit semifinalist (in Texas), helps my admission chances for any of the schools I want to go to?

Here are the schools:

MIT
CalTech
Columbia
Stanford
Princeton
UChicago
UPenn
UC Berkeley

Bump.

No

What if I was a finalist?

Nope. With the huge number of incredibly qualified students applying to those schools, even National Merit Finalist wouldn’t make much of a difference.

I thought so, I don’t know why everyone makes such a big deal about it.

I agree, it’s really just an award for doing well on a practice SAT.

NMF is what’s saving my butt for college though, so I can’t complain too much about it.

I think I’ll be fine with my current stats anyways, and I guess NMSF can’t really hurt on my app.
