ok so i have been playing golf for almost my whole life and i have won on multiple junior tours and have had top 10's in the district, regional and state tournaments(6th at states last year)
obviously i could never play golf for stanford(they are reallly good) but does this help me at all in the admissions process at stanford or any other school like berkeley?

Yeah it should help a fair bit.

It will only help if you are a recruited athlete. If you plan on playing golf in Stanford, and are good enough to do so then you should begin emailing the coaches and maybe plan to meet them if you live nearby. This will help A LOT.

If your golf is good and is an EC, it will help and show that you are well rounded. However, this means that all your other factors are great: scores, grades, recommendations, essays etc. If they are not very strong, then the fact that you are good golfer will not carry much weight unless you are good enough to be recruited.

Tiger Woods attended Stanford and Michelle Wie is in the school. You figure :)
