I am being actively recruited to play golf at some smaller schools like Luther College, Monmouth College, Illinois College, and Stetson University. Does this help my application? I am applying to schools including Duke, Vanderbilt, and Notre Dame. My academic stats are just at the 50 percentile, and I have pretty good ECs (no trips to Haiti, research in Antarctica, a child of two dads, or things of that nature though). Could golf be a swing factor??? My team won a state championship last season and is nationally recognized too.

Go to the athletics forum and repost there.

The answer is: it could help A LOT. But it depends what’s being communicated to you.

Being recruited by Monmouth will NOT help you to get in to Duke.
