<p>Hi, I'm currently a freshman at UT-Austin, and I'm really interested in transferring to Stanford. I was waitlisted last year. Would that have a major negative or positive effect on my application? I want an honest answer, because if it truly will affect it negatively, I'd like to save $50. Thanks you guys!</p>
<p>That would be a major negative. Transfer admission is more likely for people who wouldn't have been close to getting in as a freshman but have since then shown improvement , capability. <p>I don't think that's true... I really doubt that doing well in high school would be a disadvantage. My guess is that would be an advantage. They clearly saw something in your application that caught their attention, so I would think that would make it more likely to be accepted. If you want to go to Stanford, I'd spend the $50 and see what happens.</p>
<p>Just have a good reason. Your essay should not be about why Stanford should want you but why YOU NEED STANFORD.
