Does being waitlisted for Freshman Admissions Affect Transfers?

Hi, I'm currently a freshman at UT-Austin, and I'm really interested in transferring to Stanford. I was waitlisted last year. Would that have a major negative or positive effect on my application?
Thanks for you input!
