oh wow i was just going through the berkeley forum and came across this thread.

if that is the kind of hate that they give transfers, im rethinking my decision...

oh wow i was just going through the berkeley forum and came across this thread.

if that is the kind of hate that they give transfers, im rethinking my decision...

lol? cuz anyplace else you go there arent *******s? and theyll give you little baskets of sunshine and love all the time

I think that was just a ■■■■■, dood.

hahah, well all UCs admit “subpar” students. They give priority to community college students. A student could have a higher GPA at a non CC and not get admitted just because the “subpar” are given priority. Suck it up!

its not the op that made me wonder, but its the others who are posting on that thread. generally everyone (excluding transfers) agree with the op.

at least you got in. If you are just going to let a few people ruin it for you, then you really need to reevaluate your reasons for transferring.

CC students are subpar and Berkeley giving CC students priority is lowering their standards. It doesnt matter who agrees with it because it is true.

screw them. i just commented on that thread-got a little too heated but said what I had to say.

If you want to go there, go there. Ignore them, focus on your own goals and make it happen. The naysayers usually feel threatened and use frivolous excuses like “they’re transfers, thus they are subpar” to protect their fragile dignity. A great portion of their academic self-esteem is propped up on a cardboard cutout of their school ranking. That’s how we were taught in high school: compete, compete, compete and you will get what you deserve. Such empty lies. Linear thinking, no analysis.

Whatever, the point is, screw those condescending ****** bags. Don’t let them get in the way of the school of your dreams.

of course its true. im not denying that. but if you think that people hating on you left and right at a college because the vast majority think you’re inferior to them doesn’t at least worry you, you must be joking.

They are just perplexed because Berkeley has very good accomodations for transfer applicants compared to applicants out of high school.

@iambeowulf710: I have a good feeling that a few condescending posters on CC don’t really constitute the attitudes of the majority of Cal students. Anyway, when you go to your classes who’s going to know that you’re a transfer anyway? Don’t worry, for real.

You may think I’m a ■■■■■ but I just registered on this forum to share my honest opinion.
I have to completely agree with what lerock123 has posted. The VAST majority of transfer students DO NOT belong here in Berkeley. I have yet to come across a transfer that is competitve in any shape of form. Merely browsing through your postings prove just how dumb most of you are. Please reconsider your admission and enroll into a CSU where you belong.

@ mshaddal: haha you and I said nearly the same thing, but you posted right before me! Alas, I have to agree with beowulf…I am appalled at what I read in that thread. It is simply disgusting to have to sift through the ignorance of some of those kids.

@ BackCracker: haha such a ■■■■■.

predictthisflick is the only one out of all of you that realized that guy’s a ■■■■■? :(

@emilsinclair: 1,731 posts? Are you serious? I’m the ■■■■■? HAHA get a life you loser!

@ eits: We knew he was a ■■■■■, but it was the corresponding responses of the current UCB students that got us riled up lol.

^^ exactly lol

Okay, total anecdote here, but to be frank, all my non-science/engineering classmates are not the brightest bulbs. There’s a huge gap in social science classes at the CC level.

All non science/engineeing classes are called bullshi* classes.
Everyone who majors in these fields are called bullshi* students.

@ edbraga: I agree with you; that gap does exist for social science classes. However, I wouldn’t use that as a means with which to evaluate the transfers in the social sciences. I consider myself more prepared than anyone I know with 8 psych classes under my belt for my major.

Don’t worry, I did get that you were just providing an anecdote, but I’d beg to differ with my own example and the examples provided by my friends that are social science majors ;p.

^^^ again, exactly lol
