@ beowulf: WORD! lol. haha glad to see I’m not the only one awake! What brings you to the boards at this ungodly hour?

just finished a beastly 20 page paper to find out my printer is nearly out on ink. wth…

Ahhh that’s terrible! :(. I’m doing my normal procrastination through this website lol. I’m trying to take all of these psych notes, but after a few hours it just gets too old!

Good luck in your quest to find ink! I have to get back to studying :/. Peace!

If I go to Cal I’ll wear around some customized shirts that say “I’m a CCC transfer, so suck on it haters.”

casualty, there are no haters :

Dude, there’s thousands of students at Cal. Besides, I HIGHLY doubt people are going to act that way. People just aren’t that rude LOL. Still, if you come across someone who has a complex about the issue, AVOID THEM. Trust me, it’ll be fine.

I’m glad I saw this thread. Its more fuel for the fire.

ew, how horrible. You know, the acceptance for certain transfer majors at Cal is less than for freshman admissions. Meaning, uh, in that case getting in as a freshman is easier than getting in as a transfer.

I can’t say I’m too surprised at some Cal kids being like this though. Sometimes some of them forget they’re not ivy status, and are really “down” here with the rest of us. Tsk tsk tsk.
(I’m aware there exist cool Cal people not full of their own fart smells)

Ya’ll could come to UCLA, where nobody gives half-a-**** whether you transferred, were admitted as a freshman, or are simply auditing the classes jim morrison style.

Well said Sopheee! haha nice post.

actually, i have friends at ucla who admit that they also look down on transfers :

How would they even know? Most of us aren’t even going to mix with lower division students? wait a minute. …

“Hey look, there is a hot chick/guy!”
“Aww damn, she/he is hot? Must be a transfer student”

Seriously?

lol, that made me chuckle :]

@ flwrgrl

Lol, we’ll be the hot ones, and STILL get the grades! lol

BackCracker Dude, you are the best!!! Nobody is better than you. Mann!! Is that what are you implying? haha Please leave a comment because I won’t read your reply anyways, Bye ;]

I know. Plus we earned life points for going to a CCC where we worked in groups with 90 year old and 16 yearl old classmates!!

Not to mention bypassing the gangsters that frequent most CCC student centers and getting glared at for not having a lighter available when a random student asked for one to light their cigarette.

Everyone should read Emil’s post in the OP’s post on the University of California, Berkeley forum.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-california-berkeley/920133-does-anyone-else-feel-like-majority-transfer-students-here-grossly-subpar-6.html

It’s excellent.

It’s funny how people are offended that a bunch of snot nosed freshman could think lowly of transfer students. If some kid came up to me and tried to argue that he was smarter than me, or that he deserved more respect for coming straight out of the diploma mill, absurdly grade inflated high schools of California, I’d nearly fall over in hysterics. Can’t get any more delirious than that. It may work with someone else who fits this profile of underachieving transfer students, but I wouldn’t hesitate to wipe the floor with these types of people, not just on the subject in question, but in their own field of supposed expertise, assuming they believe they ever had one.

@ mikei: Thank you so much, man! Last night I was working late and needed a break on my favorite forum. Additionally, I was pretty floored by what was being spewed out in that thread. It’s grotesque lol. I truly hope that many of them aren’t serious or are being sarcastic.

Anyway, I’ve just sent off my letters to L&S and to the head of the psych department at Berkeley. If they allow me to switch my major from phil to psych…or better - double major, then I will wait an extra semester to go to Berkeley in the spring.

Thanks for the support, and I hope to see you at school someday!

^^ Scratch the last part - if I go to Berkeley, I will definitely be seeing you at school someday. haha I plan to be involved in quite a few clubs, groups, and organizations.

god i love Nicky!!! he so kicked ass in that post.
eat it Berkeley 4-years!

@emil what can I say?

That response was a direct prick to the elite 4 years’ over inflated egos.
Basically, anyone who posts anything negative about transfers after that will just look like an a**
