Does Boston Unviersity look more at grades or test scores?

Or are they equally weighted?

Boston University is my number one school, and i want to be accepted so badly. My problem is my test scores. I have a little over a 3.5 UW GPA, with 4 AP classes, an honors class, and 3 years of advanced science. I have a lot of EC's with leadership rolls ( captain and officers). I am getting a good rec from one of my AP teachers. My problem is my test scores. My highest is a 21 act i know it's so horrible. I even studied for this test. My problem ( not to try to make excuses for low scores) is my nerves. I've had bad problems with anxiety my whole life, having to go through medication and other things. When i get into the test i over think too much and end up doing poorly. I am taking the test one more time in December so hopefully my scores will improve. But if they don't, are my chances at getting accepted to Boston University completely shot? I plan to apply to School of Hospitality or Sargent college.

Sorry this is so long, but thanks!

Looks like they are about the same. http://www.bu.edu/oir/files/2010/04/cds0910.pdf</a> Section C7

So with such horrible test scores ( the low middle end of BU act scores was a 26 i believe) i probably have a slim chance at getting accepted right?

I would say you are right. You might want to look at test optional schools. [Optional List | FairTest](ACT/SAT Optional List - Fairtest) What can your family afford to pay?

I don’t think i need test optional schools because my scores are within the range of all my other schools besides BU. BU was just my number one school and i was hoping i would be able to improve but that obviously didn’t work out. I plan to take it one more time in December, so hopefully i see improvement.

My D is a freshman at Sargent and says that there are exams, homework, projects, etc all the time. Whenever I talk with her on the phone, she says she is very tired. I am afraid that it will be hard for someone with anxiety problems to survive at Sargent.

I may not have explained my anxiety issue well enough. This is something that i suffered with majorly when i was younger, that has turned into a very very minimal problem for me. These problems occurred when i was younger because my dad was always gone for business (leaving on a Sunday coming home on a Friday night) for a lot of my childhood years. Were not sure what caused it or why, but this made me extremely nervous that i couldn’t function well. I was on medication and in therapy at that point because of it ( again this is when i was much younger) I hardly have any problems anymore, and what i do i can completely cope with. But what i was trying to say for the test, in sections that i end up getting into a time crunch ( especially math my lowest score) i end up getting nervous because of that. But i have taken many ap classes, and never had a problem with any anxiety problems relating to work load or school tests. I only get nervous on those because i has such an impact on my future college plans i tend to over think it. Sorry for the length of this but i wanted to clear that up.

Bump anyone else?
