Well, does it? E.g. Brown is kindof artsy. Does Columbia search for athletic talent or what?

Gotta be a hipster, obvi

I’d suggest developing a taste in Pabst blue ribbon and buying several berets. Also, a mustache never hurts.

science research!

@herro. Wait are you serious? Im not being sarcastic! That’d be good if Columbia looked for that.

Be good at like… everything. But really.

My impression from their mailings an applications was that they have a unique focus on classics. I know on their application they ask you what you last read, but that is probably pretty common. I don’t really know, I would interested in hearing a current student answer this.

I’m actually not kidding though. Either be the best at something, or be pretty good at everything. Columbia looks for leaders, volunteers, bookworms, musicians, athletes all rolled into one. You’ll see what I mean when you get on campus and everyone is pretty much as well rounded as a person could be (or ridiculously close to genius).

If you’re not actually good at everything (lolz I’m definitely not) make it look like you are on your application. Attach an extra resume, even though that’s kind of d0uch3y.
