Does cornell contact applicants for interviews? My friend applied to ILR ED and claims she got an interview request but I havent and Im kind of worried. Does anyone know anything abt this?
I applied ed to HE btw
Whether you get an interview or not is based on availability of alumni to do the interview. Cornell’s interview is more informational, doesn’t have much (if any) impact to admission.
My daughter was contacted for an interview 3 years ago. Like the previous post said, its informational and very casual.
My three other classmates who are EDing Cornell all got interview requests (we live in Silicon Valley so tons of alumni), but I still have not gotten one yet. Is it on a rolling basis? Or since I didn’t get one yet, I’m not getting one at all? They did submit their apps before me (2~3 days before) but got their requests relatively quickly (by Thursday).
@dixen454 i also live in that area this is stressing me out
I just read that they only contact Hotel and Agriculture applicants. Is that correct?
They only contact those students for formal interviews. All other Cornell applicants are entered into the CAAAN system where local alumni may contact you and request an informal meetup.
How do the local alumni usually contact you, through email or through the Cornell portal.
Through email.
Guys I got an email! I don’t care if it doesn’t mean anything to admissions but its reassuring i dont know why lol
Well that gives me hope! Still waiting for my own
I just got my email last night! YAY
My son got in without having and interview never contacted for one. He is in ILR
