I really hope the answer is yes because I messed up freshman year really badly.

Your thread title asks about first semester senior year grades, while the first post asks about freshman year grades…

But I’ll answer both to clear your app-filled senior mind:
- Cornell does look at senior year transcripts for your schedule and for grades. Perhaps looked at strictly, perhaps just to make sure you aren’t slacking off.

2) Cornell does look at freshman year grades. Most Ivy League/top tier schools do.

Do they consider your first semester senior year grades if you apply ED?

It is not required for ED, and many GCs do not send them to ED schools. That being said, if your first quarter grades are very good, especially if they show upward trend then it would be worth it to send them in. I know someone who didn’t take any APs from 9-11 due to scheduling problem of transferring from one high school to another. He took APs for the first time senior year, got As for all of those classes. His GC sent his grades in to demonstrate he could handle hard courses. He is at Cornell now.

What if your first semester grades come in like January? Is it too late to send them in if you applied ED?

if you have any additions that could improve your app, ALWAYS SEND IT, by mail, email fax, call them w/e. BEsides they look at not only your freshmen year scores but the progression, if you sucked bung the first year but pulled yourself together and rocked AP classes the rest of highschool, you pretty solid
