Okay cc I am curious to have this question answered.

I checked their website and nothing really addresses this question. I I have seen several sites that say they do and others that say they do not, same goes for previous cc posts/threads.

Does anyone have anything conclusive?

Thanks!

I’m fairly sure they do not, however you must send all scores, and they do look at your highest for each section, without recalculating a new composite

i have no idea about how Cornell handles the ACT
teamSAT
They don’t call it “superscore”, but they say they take the highest numbers, so sounds like pretty much the same thing.
@Renomamma Thanks!
Just a general question but what is the difference between “superscore” and “considering best sections” in terms of how adcoms evaluate an applicant?
It sounds like the same thing, but maybe it’s more loosely interpreted than an actual calculated superscore. With superscore, they take the highest in each section and recalculate a score. If they "consider your highest scores"they might look at them but not officially calculate a new score. I don’t really know for sure.
@Renomamma Yeah I see your point. I never understood the difference. But I’m sure superscoring is better
Cornell does not take into account SAT Writing (see Engineering FAQ and Dyson AEM Stat). Only Math and CR scores are looked at. They ignore SAT/ACT essay scores.Cornell uses “ACT Composite” only for admission decision.
