Does CSU San Marcos have pre med?:I search the internet and they appears to be no clear answer about this. Please help !
Pre-Med is an intention not a major, meaning you need to take a list of required classes to apply to Medical school but you can major in any subject.
The easiest way to fulfill the Medical school course requirements is by pursuing a Science based degree, but English majors, History majors, Philosophy majors etc… can apply to Medical school as long as they take the required courses.
The commonly accepted coursework requirements for medical school include a minimum of 1 year of:
General biology
Physics with lab
General chemistry (inorganic chemistry) with lab
Organic chemistry with lab
Calculus
English
New - Sociology
New - Psychology
If you are planning to do your premedical coursework after you get your undergraduate degree, you can take these courses at nearly any four-year college.
