I am a international student in China and will apply to college in the U.S. this year. Recently, I got into an argument with the school about the usefulness of Chinese class. I refuse to take this class and I don’t pay attention in class. The school then warn me that if I carry on my attitude, I would get a disciplinary record or even suspension. I want to know will the disciplinary record affect my college admission?
Yes, a disciplinary action or suspension on your record would hurt you in terms of college admissions. Get it together and follow the program your school has set out.
@irvinpe Depends on the circumstances. Students from countries are special cases. It would depend if the action by the school was considered legitimate.
Everyone has to take classes they don’t like. So do you. I can’t imagine any college is going to be thrilled with an applicant who refuses to take a required class.
clears throat - looks around awkwardly
Jokes aside, yes, disciplinary record will have an impact.
