I applied ED and did not receive anything about an interview. However, my cousin just sent in his app for RD and they contacted him for an interview. He has slightly better test scores but I have a better GPA. I'm not sure how our ECs compare. Either way, WHAT DOES THIS MEAN? does it mean that he's a better candidate than I am?

i think everyone gets invited...i got 530 in reading and i still got the email...MUAHAHHAHAHA

i just checked all the emails that vanderbilt had sent me and none of them said anything about an interview. What did the email specifically say?

something like this...
Thank you for submitting your application for admission to VanderbiltUniversity. As an optional part of the admissions process, we offer you anopportunity to interview with a Vanderbilt alumnus or alumna who might providea different perspective as you make your way through the college selectionprocess. Through our Commodore Recruitment Programs (CoRPs), Vanderbilt alumniaround the world register as interviewers.

Please visit our special website athttp://www.vanderbilt.edu/admissions/student-interview where you will find alist of participating alumni, organized by location. This site also containsspecific instructions about how to participate in the program, as well asimportant dates and deadlines that you need to be aware of as you proceed.

If you choose to participate in the CoRPs Interviewing program, the alumnus/awill submit a written report on your behalf that will become part of yourofficial admissions file. To that end, the interview is both optional andevaluative. Please understand that there may not be alumni trained in yourparticular location; remember that this program is completely optional and isnot a required part of the admissions process. If you do not see an alumnus oralumna listed near your location, you are welcome to check back at a later dateto see if any alumni have since registered near your location.

and i think the deadline for the request is ova for ED 1

I'm not sure how things are these days. When my D was a high school senior & applied, she did not get offered an interview. She was accepted.

I didn't get offered an interview too. I think it's because I sent my SAT official score report a little late. But I emailed the local admissions officer regarding the interview and she said it's too late. So I think as long as you get all your crap for the app in time, you'll get an interview...if not...maybe not
