Hi!
I'm applying ED1 to Vanderbilt this year, and I saw on the website that having an interview is an option. Can someone please explain to me if it is a necessary step to being accepted? I haven't looked into it that much, but I would definitely do it if it meant being accepted (lol I love Vandy).
Thank you!

If you do have the opportunity of being interviewed, please do request for one! They can only help and will assist the admissions committee see you beyond test scores and GPAs. It will also help you learn from the experiences of the alumni. I never had one due to lack of interviewers in my area, but I did request for one. I don’t know how much interviews actually count for, but if you make a good impression on your interviewer and have him or her write a good report about you, it will only boost your chances of getting accepted. With 11% acceptance rates, every aspect of your application is going to count!

@Sophie1295 Thank you for the information! At what point in the application process can you request one, and do I need to email my admissions officer about it?

I got an email about it a few weeks after I submitted my application :)

@Sophie1295 Thanks for letting me know, hopefully I’ll get a chance to interview as well! (:

All the best with the application process.Remember to apply for the merit scholarships too! :)
