Does everyone have their popcorn ready for Harry & Meghan?

It seems intentional, they started filming everything since 2018. I’m waiting for the sex tape a la Kardashian, lol. Sorry CC, I can’t resist.

Yes and their 2018 visit to Australia seemed like a huge success judging by the clips Netflix showed of the visit and the positive reaction in the press at the time. Netflix showed it alongside clips of Charles & Diana visiting Australia in 1983, and then a clip from the Panorama interview of Diana noting how jealous it made Charles that the crowds preferred her. H&M said they started to get backlash right after that trip.

We would appreciate your resisting.

The thing about being public figures is you don’t get to decide to what “degree” your lives are inspected, judged etc. Either you open yourself up as a celebrity to any and all criticism, or you keep quiet and live a low-key life. They knew that.

Diana is much more attractive than Charles. I don’t see it’s the case for this couple. They are stretching the truth.

Then stop talking about it. And they have plenty of money. They came here with money and can EASILY continue to make money with speaking engagements, their podcast company, their production company, yada yada. Then they can live peacefully in plain sight like Bruce Willis, Harrison Ford, Nicole Kidman and Angie Harmon (who lives in my town).

I think they could have done the Netflix type show without the negative stuff. They could have shown a lot of pictures of the back scenes of their wedding, about their charity trips and the games, on what they planned to do now. We eat that stuff up. Throw in a few cute picks of the babies and we are goners. They could have then said how nasty the press was to them without blaming the palace for not stopping it (just inferred it). Just as many people would have watched and they would have received more sympathy (at least from me).

They claim to be doing this to get their side out there, so we’d all understand. I don’t understand why they are doing this. I thought they looked so uncomfortable at the Queen’s funeral and it didn’t have to be that way. They are going to miss the coronation and that is just sad. Hmm, Archie’s birthday party or the coronation? I think I know which I’d pick.

You keep posting your negative views of Meghan’s appearance compared to Kate. To me, they both look beautiful, fit, fashionable and elegant in heels. But you perceive a big difference in their respective attractiveness. I guess beauty is subjective.

As to your claim that they were stretching the truth to say that their Australia tour was a big success, here’s a Forbes article from October 2018 when they were in Australia:

If measured by the huge crowds following their appearances, the 16-day-tour through Australia, Tonga, Fiji and New Zealand has proved a massive hit for the royal couple, whose pregnancy was announced as they arrived in Sydney on October 15. They have been continually praised for their modern, easy and natural approach.

At most events, the crowds waiting to see them are estimated in the thousands, with many gathering in the early morning hours to catch a glimpse as they pass.

“Crowds of that size have not appeared for Queen Elizabeth on any of her trips to Australia (which date back as far as the 1950s), and Harry and ‘Megmania’ easily eclipses the enthusiasm with which William and Kate’s 2014 trip to Australia - even with crowd-pulling Prince George in tow - were received,” wrote royal expert Tom Sykes.

For the final stretch of their packed 16-day-trip that has included Australia, Fiji and Tonga, the mother-and-father-to-be arrived in New Zealand from Sydney on Saturday, where they were received by screaming and sobbing fans lining the streets of Wellington to greet them as rock stars.

This is pure speculation based in tabloid fodder. One would think long-term users on this site would be above spreading unsubstantiated rumors, particularly when not prefaced by, e.g., “I read in The Sun…”

This thread is full of tabloid level commentary, and honestly, I thought folks here were better people than the average Daily Mail reader. I wish the thread would be closed already.

I think you have a habit of misinterpret people, I didn’t say one couple is more beautiful than the other did I. It depends on your definition of beauty, some people might like one vs the other. I must admit both men are bald, there you go, I’m not biased in that regard, lol.

I keep coming back hoping to see that humanity has miraculously evolved.

But you keep coming back! It’s all just speculation and entertaining discussion. I really don’t see anyone totally ripping them apart. Like me, many see both sides of the coin and just speculate as to motives.

You are right. It is the ‘elite’ that say they shouldn’t be invited, not that they won’t be invited. " the unease caused in the British royals by the Netflix miniseries ‘Harry & Meghan’ has reached some members of the British elite, who are calling for the still Duke and Duchess of Sussex to be left out of what will be the coronation ceremony of King Charles III next year.

Former Conservative politician David Mellor told the Daily Mail, “They make money by selling out their family. I think it should be clear that the British people don’t want them there. They shouldn’t come to the coronation. They categorically should not come,” he said. Harry and Meghan should not attend Charles III coronation, elite UK voices plead | Marca

I hope Charles does ask them but he’ll be a little busy that day so won’t be able to make sure everyone else is nice to H&M.

I just can’t see it happening after the show and the book. I read the sentiment that the public wanted them at the Queen’s funeral and I think the way they were included was appropriate. I don’t see the public booing at a funeral, but they may not be so nice outside the coronation.

They were booed at the Jubilee but not a the Queen’s funeral. At least Google doesn’t have anything.

I just read somewhere that the Netflix deal is worth $100 million. I think they are okay.

Even the title of his book seems petulant. Yes he’s the spare. We know. Poor Harry. Yet he’s known it his entire life. He was not destined to be king. Why he didn’t pursue some sort of career is puzzling. What was his plan for his life? It’s the same issue faced by many kids of the Uber wealthy. When you don’t need to make money how do you find fulfilling activities/occupations? I think if Harry and Meghan had handled their decision to leave the FAMILY better people might have more empathy regarding their reasons for the decision. As it is, they come across as immature, whiny, vindictive, and money-grasping. Yes they need to support themselves but selling your dirty laundry to do it is crass.

I am surprised about all the hate for Harry and Meghan. Harry served in the military for 10 years and then planned to live a life of service, which he was born and bred to do.

There is no clear right and wrong between Harry and his family - it’s so much more complex than that. The Family should have found a compromise like letting them live in South Africa and serve the monarchy from there. But it was all ….or nothing…and Harry is very bitter about that.

You can see clearly why the Firm did not want to sue the Daily Mail - look how awful it was for Meghan. Was it with it? Both options were neither not wrong or right - you could see it from both sides.

Meghan was naive and not very self aware of how she is perceived - but no one deserves to be treated the way the media portrayed her. It clearly broke her down and impacted her mental health. The royal family did not want to address it because the media attention would likely get worse… it’s a no win situation.

Yes this is very rich and famous problems and they could have chosen not to air their grievances in a national forum but they wanted to tell their story…, and honestly it did not damage my opinion of William ( Kate was hardly mentioned) / both brothers did what they had to do to survive the Awful media. End of story.

Like most families after a disagreement-everyone thinks they are right and the other is wrong / it’s just too bad they could not find compromise solution

He could have remained in the military. He chose not to do so. If he expected public financial support, it is reasonable to expect he remain in the country that is supporting him and make public appearances.
