Does failure to comply with deadlines affect your admission chances?

Okay..I missed a couple of financial aid form deadlines, and I was wondering if it affects my admission chances. I'm already about three weeks late for some colleges! Their dumb checklists didn't mention certain forms and I found out three weeks after the deadline had passed! It was hard enough as it is handling the IDOC, and Profile and FAFSA on my own, with no parental guidance or Financial Aid officer in our school. So...does it really adversely affect my chances for admission. I know it could compromise my eligibility for financial aid...can it prevent me from getting admisison as well? because i'm **** scared, and well....i plan to mail them tomorrow.

Also..how big of an issue could this turn out to be? Could three weeks destroy my chances for getting ANY financial aid?!

Oh and I'm a US Citizen settled in Pakistan. This further complicated matters since I wasn't aware if information taken from Pakistani tax returns is acceptable for FAFSA and Profile.

Am I in trouble!? Three weeks...THEY SAID JANUARY! O_O

I'm pretty sure it won't affect your admissions; as far as I know, they are two seperate offices. But there is a chance that you will get less aid.

Yes, if your paperwork is due by a certain date and it is not in you could end up being admitted and not recieiving any aid. At schools that are need-aware, need sensitive (as very few schools are need blind) if you are a borderline candidate, the school will not make a decision with out all of your information.

If you are a US citizen you have to file taxes with the IRS, no matter where you live.

Well I got accepted to Vassar College recently but then found out I didn't have all my financial aid forms in--I completely freaked out. So what I'm worried about is that being late may affect my chances for aid, not admission obviously. So you could be in the same boat and get accepted but then not get as much aid. I think it depends a lot on the college.
