Wisconsin and Penn State both had notification dates and have released early. Was hoping FSU would too.
Not more than a few hours early, when they update their systems, no.
@Pasbal Well that stinks. All these kids work hard to get their apps in by the EA deadline and then have to wait 3 months for FSU to figure it out.
FSU has half the class apply/accepted early. That’s their system.
Can you please explain in more detail? I thought FSU said there would be no early notifications? I was trying to find where I read that on their admissions website. But, would be interested to hear some more specifics of what you mean. Thanks.
FSU had the first admissions date for about 1/2 the class in Dec. They have a second date much later (March?) for the second half.
Notification date in the portal says January 25.
FSU has tens of thousands of applications to review, and does not have rolling admissions so what exactly are you getting at? They have the date of notification listed, it isn’t some secret. If you didn’t want to wait for the notification on the date listed, don’t apply. The wait sucks, sure, but you accept it when you apply.
FSU updates their computer systems to process billings, holds, and all that at certain times throughout the day. One of the ways to find out “early” if you were accepted is whether you have a tuition deposit on your account online once FSU updates all of their systems.
It isn’t early in that people are going to find out in December instead of late January, but it is a few hours before the decisions are made public.
It’s not half. The first decision date is a much larger percentage of the acceptance than the second decision date, which is why FSU stresses the importance of getting your application in by the first deadline.
@Pasbal Easy. You’re getting a bit worked up for no reason. I put a smiling emoji in there for a reason. It’s a pleasant surprise when schools release early despite a stated notifcation date. FSU isn’t the only school that gets thousands of applications and others manage to do it. I was asking to see if, by chance, they would let the EA kids know before 1/25. Not a big deal.
