Does getting an accredited undergrad degree for your major matter? Lost and confused!

<p>Moderator "entomom" advised me to post in this forum for more help since I wasn't able to get answers in the other forums. </p>

<p>Hello, does getting an accredited undergraduate degree really matter in helping to find a job in a particular field? I'm majoring in health care administration and I'm looking into transferring to a CSU in CA that has an accredited program. I attended Sacramento State University for 3 semesters, but will be attending a CC this Spring. I'm weighing the pros and cons if transferring will be worth it. I will most likely end up going to a CC for another 1-2 years before I can transfer which would result in me getting just an undergraduate degree in 5.5-6 years total! But, if I stay at Sac State I'll graduate in 5 years total (started school Fall 2011) and my financial aid basically covers my entire tuition. Although, the health care degree at Sac State is accredited by the American Kinesiology Program which is totally different from where I'm heading towards. Which would be a wiser choice? Should I transfer to an accredited school for that field or just finish up my degree at Sac State?</p>

<p>Would graduate schools accept me to pursue a masters degree if my undergraduate degree isn't accredited by AUPHA (for health care administration)? Would hospitals hire me once I graduate?</p>

<p>PLEASE HELP ME I'm reaching the end of the tunnel and have no idea what I should do.</p>

<p>You definitely need a degree. If you are or will be receiving full financial aid for an undergraduate degree take it. You are very lucky! And it will be worth it for not only the health care field, but any field you decide to go into. You may decide to seek a higher position in the health care field.</p>

<p>The OP was asking about whether, for a degree in health care administration, AUPHA accreditation matters, as the OP is considering one school with an AUPHA accredited degree program in that major and another school whose degree program in that major is not AUPHA accredited.</p>
