does getting letters from interviewers mean you have a better chance than other?

while reading threads on cc, i realized that others recieved letters from their interviewer. is it letter written based on, if they think you have a high chance, or if the interviewer actually write letters????

thanks!!

Depends. If it is generic it means nada. Absolutely nothing. If it is hand written from a coach it is common but still good. I have received personal notes from adcoms and teachers I hope that's a good sign.

In all honesty I do not know the "black/white" answer to your question; I would guess the more personal the better.

thanks for your reply. do you mind chancing me for bs schools?
this is the thread link:

Answer to your first question. No
Second question, are you full pay or FA?

vincent, you have too many chance things. stop worrying, we all have equal chance. and yeah personal letters means they know who you are. i have gotten a few letter from the JV hockey and Varsity hockey coaches at some school and then all my interviewers sent me holiday cards and best wishes. i dont know how many people get that. haha i just realized all my interviewers were the hockey coache =)

to sarum:

it does not rather if we apply for fa or not because andover and exeter both have a need blind things which means admission department has nothing to do with fa department. btw, if fa is effects admission ppl, would pay the first year and apply for fa next year.
but, ya im applying to fa tho:]

to we30:
i w=only have one chance thing, but i ll stop posting on other ppls threads tho. sorry to all ccers. but how do we all "equal" chance??? we all have somewhat different chances....won't we..plus im just really scared because im azn and the comptetiion is much higher than other races. not to be racist!

is this true for bs schools even when they have a need blind fa thing for phillips schools???

oh sorry, i thot this other kid with a V was you, cuz this one kid has liek 5 threads all on chances... and yeh, we all have equal chances.... one kid may have a way higher score, but with so many aplicant and other schools, even if a kid has higher scores by just alittle bit and equyal everything else, he still might get rejected over a kid who has lower scores... they dont have to have a reason to reject you. maybe they dont want so many 99% azns. if exeter were to really pick the smartest, the whole population would be azn... its about diversity and being a "renaissance man"... a well rounded person thats going to use the education to do something great.

to we30

your explanation is very true. crossing fingers to get accepted to one of the phillips schools. wish you good luck!!!!

haha same here. and good luck to you too. im just happy to go anywhere. as long as i get out of here haha.

probably not

thank god you said probably not!
to we30-same here trying to get out of public school:]
