Does admissions look at you better? I'm going to apply to one of CMU's pre-college programs (NHSGA) and I just wanted to know if it will help in admissions.

From what I’ve heard, if you do well in pre-college it greatly helps your chances of admission.

I would suggest applying to AP/EA instead of game academy. Although game academy will be fun, my roommates were CONSTANTLY busy, and never had time to enjoy the summer. Also, if you take AP/EA you can take courses that you will want to major in when you actually go to the university. If you do well in those courses you may be able to get an internal recommendation from a professor which greatly improves your chances (and by greatly I mean GG you’re accepted).

I want to apply to the game academy as well. Does doing well in the game academy not help your chances?

You won’t get any college credit for it. 2 A’s at AP/EA +letters of recommendation from CMU professors is better than doing phenomenal at Game Academy + letters of recommendation.

Why? Only because one gives college credit and the other doesn’t?
