I recently got accepted to Carnegie Mellon's AP/EA summer program, but I'm not sure if I'm going yet. Any information for or against AP/EA would be greatly appreciated.
Also, would using AP/EA to apply through the Early Action program be beneficial? How high is the acceptance rate?

Thanks :)

I didn’t apply to AP/EA but I did go to SAMS last year which is similar except free. I say go for it. It is a really nice program. You meet a lot of people, make friends w/ students on campus&&faculty. I think AP/EA have more free time&&less homework than SAMS and the classes are really beneficial and helpful. Being on campus for six weeks really gets you ready for college life, being independent etc.CMU campus&&pittsburgh kinda “grows on to you.” after two weeks, you will not want to leave. there is so much to do&&AP/EA housing is really nice (yall stay in Morewood way better than SAMS). if you need more info, there are some threads on CC and a group of FB that you could look at.
using AP/EA to apply through Early Action is probably beneficial. from the people I know who used the program last year, maybe 60, 65% were accepted. it could be on the lower end though.
