I read something a while back saying “if you don’t need financial aid- they let you in no matter what”. How much truth is there to this statement? If you say you dont need financial aid and have a pretty decent application, are the chances of you getting in higher? Thanks!
GW is need-aware, meaning they consider your financial position when deciding admission. While I can’t speak to how much it will help your application, it most likely will do so.
most colleges are need blind, meaning they only look at financial aid after you’ve been accepted. GW is a good school, but if you have a 4.0 and over 1400 on new sat you will get in for sure
While GWU is need aware, I was told when my son applied (from admissions) that unless you had very significant need and had a borderline profile, applying for financial aid would not impact the application. I don’t believe they let “everyone in who can pay”. Their acceptance stats speak tell the story there.!
